| Fifty Candles for Western Pacific |
The
final issue of Western Pacific's company magazine, Mileposts (March 1983 issue) carried a reprint
of Gil Kneiss' 1953 article, "Fifty Candles for Western Pacific", which chronicled
the history of The Western Pacific Railroad Company, from the original
organizing meeting of March 3, 1903 down through the subsequent
fifty years. The article is reproduced here in its entirety. |

Annual reports were issued after the end of each fiscal year to provide an overview of the company's financial condition. Annual reports generally include a description of the railroad's operations, its balance sheet and income statement. SEC rules require that annual reports be distributed to all shareholders. |
